Little Miss E’s Mama and I worked together for two years.  Our offices were directly next to each other and we go to know each other pretty darn well over that course of time.  With that said, I know how destined for greatness this little one is.  She was born into a family with an over abundance of love and determination for family.  I can’t wait to see the creative genes that both her parents have come out in her.  Let me introduce miss Evangeline to you.  Better known as EVHue.  🙂

Little Sophia came into this world much earlier than her Mama and Daddy expected.  Early enough in fact, that the date we had blocked for our maternity session quickly became our newborn session!  She is healthy, beautiful, and knows exactly what she wants – even at two weeks old.  No matter how much I tried to squeeze those little hands and arms into her swaddle, she was not having it.  Way to go Sophia! Start off with a strong opinion!  A girl after my own heart.

Since I have specialized in children and families, opportunities to do to a senior session are a little more far between.  Each time I get  this older crowd in front of my lens, I remember how much I love it.  They take direction so much better than a two year old (ha) and I’m able to actually “place” the subject in the best lighting scenario.  Holla!   Readers, meet Emily.  Naperville senior with a gorgeous smile and the world at her fingertips!  Emily’s family is near and dear to my heart – and though I’ve only known them a short amount of time in this life – they have made a huge impact on me.  So grateful.

Moms, when is the last time you were in the photos with your little ones?  When is the last time you documented a memory on camera that is so crucial and could easily be forgotten years down the road? So many Moms think of how we might not look our best in the present time – or feel insecure when in front of the camera. But, in reality – your kids only see…their Mom.  They see you for how you are and will cherish these photos someday looking back on what they remember as ‘their childhood’.  That’s what its about!  So, step out of your comfort zone for a short 20 minutes with me and I promise you that I will produce photos with your children that you can be proud of!  Bring Grandmas too….love the idea of bringing generations together for quality portraiture! Don’t let another year pass with a chance to celebrate YOU and your children…

Aunt Keli got snuggle time with this little sugar pop last week and took full advantage of a newborn session. His cheeks are smushy and kissable and he is the best little snuggler. Funny – you forget how holding a newborn close to your heart can change…well….just about everything.

The past two months have been a emotional roller-coaster for my family.  We have had life leave us and we have had new life enter into our hearts.  Lila Jayne Hansen McCoy, or known to me as just simply Grandma – left us in January.  I had her in my life for 40 full years and she meant more to me than I can possibly type in words.  My hopes are to keep her energy alive in me for years to come.  The smells of her chili simmering on the stove, the taste of her special tea, the sound of her humming as she worked, the vision of her beautiful golf swing, the brush strokes from her talented paintings…all things that I cherish.  I can only dream of such longevity with the family legacy that she built and left behind.  This is what life is about.  Until we meet again my sweet Grandma…
